「巴比Q了~~~」

如果你跟外國人說 BBQ 了，

外國人真的會以為你要烤肉。

「完蛋了」的正確英文說法是：

She’s toast.

(她完蛋了）

Toast 是「烤」的意思，

當外國人說「有人要被烤」的時候，

是指那個人有嚴重的麻煩了。

如果有外國人說：

“She is expecting.”

這句話不是「她在期待」的意思，

這跟句話的意思是：「她將要生小孩了。」

如果用錯誤的英文和外國人交談，

可能會造成這樣的誤會：

小明： “Miss Kao is BBQ.”

(高小姐是烤肉。）

外國人： ”What?  Is Miss Kao going to host a BBQ event?”

（什麼？ 高小姐要辦烤肉活動嗎？）

小明： “No, I mean she is under investigation.  She may not get her new job.”

(不是的，我的意思是高小姐被調查了，

她可能無法得到她的新工作了。）

外國人： ”I see. 

You mean she is toast.

I heard she can take care of the justice system.”

(原來如此，你是說她完蛋了。

我聽說她可以搞定司法。」

小明： “She is expecting.”

(她是這樣期待。）

外國人： “She is pregnant?”

( 她懷孕了！？）
